At the DTW25 IGNITE Summit held in Copenhagen, Denmark, China Telecom and TM Forum, an authoritative organization in the global telecom industry announced an important strategic cooperation: the joint Center of Excellence of China Telecom and TM Forum (hereinafter referred to as “Center of Excellence”). Luan Xiaowei, deputy general manager of China Telecom, and Nik Willetts, CEO of TM Forum, jointly disclosed the Center of Excellence, symbolizing that cooperation between the two parties has entered a new stage.
The Center of Excellence aims to collect intelligent resources around the world to accelerate the innovation and commercialization of digital technologies. The center will rely on China Telecom’s extensive practical experience in the China Telecom industry and TM Forum’s extensive international platform resources to establish collaborations with global operators, technology giants and academic institutions to jointly promote technological advancement and industrialization in key areas such as cloud network integration and intelligent operations and maintenance (AIOPS). Given China Telecom’s leading position in the domestic market and TM Forum in global telecom standards and frameworks, cooperation is expected to have a positive impact on the industry as a whole.
The core business of the Center for Excellence will focus on four key areas: application innovation, standard environment, project incubation and talent training. By building an open and collaborative global digital ecosystem, the Center of Excellence is committed to promoting a global cycle of technology and standards and injecting new momentum into the development of talent in the digital industry. This comprehensive strategic layout is more conducive to promoting the complete transformation of digital technology from R&D to application, and ultimately providing services for the development of the industry.
In the future, the Center for Excellence will actively promote the application of cutting-edge technologies such as Open Operational Architecture (ODA), Self-Intelligent Networking (AN), AI/Network Modeling, with the aim of creating benchmark cases with industry demonstration effects. In addition, the Center for Excellence will actively participate in the discussion and formulation of TMF standards and stimulate the innovation potential of the industrial ecosystem and accelerate the transformation and application of innovative results through conventional innovation competitions. This means that the center of excellence focuses not only on technology research and development, but also on technology implementation and commercial value realization.
