Shanghai and Beijing to Kunming High-Speed Rail Sections to Operate at 350 km/h from July 1st
According to KuaiKeji on June 29th, starting July 1st, the Fuxinghao bullet trains on the Hangzhou East to Changsha South section of the Shanghai to Kunming High-Speed Railway (Hangchang section of Hukun High-Speed Railway) and the Beijing to Shenyang section of the Beijing to Harbin High-Speed Railway (Jingshen section of Jingha High-Speed Railway) will regularly operate at a speed of 350 km/h.
This year, China State Railway Group Ltd. has fully leveraged the successful experience gained from the construction of safety standard demonstration lines in recent years and has carried out safety standard demonstration line construction projects on the Hangchang section of the Hukun High-Speed Railway and the Jingshen section of the Jingha High-Speed Railway.
Adaptation and upgrade renovations were carried out on line infrastructure, bridges, tunnels, traction power supply, and communication signaling equipment. Furthermore, a “three-in-one” high-speed rail safety assurance system integrating human defense, physical protection, and technical prevention was improved.
Successful integrated testing was conducted, scientifically verifying the overall performance of the high-speed railway systems. All indicators met the relevant regulations.
Preparations, including project acceptance, safety assessments, rule revisions, personnel training, and emergency drills, were completed to a high standard.
With the Fuxinghao bullet trains on the Hangchang section of the Hukun High-Speed Railway and the Jingshen section of the Jingha High-Speed Railway operating at 350 km/h, a total of 23 and 9 sets of intelligent Fuxinghao bullet trains have been newly put into use respectively. This significantly increases the number of benchmark trains that offer faster speeds, fewer stops, and shorter travel times.
On the Hangchang section of the Hukun High-Speed Railway, 46 benchmark train services are scheduled, an increase of 36 services compared to the current schedule.
Benchmark trains departing from stations like Shanghai and Shanghai Hongqiao will depart on the hour between 7:00 AM and 6:00 PM daily, with a uniform distribution across time slots and destinations.
In the future, travel time from Hangzhou to Nanchang and Changsha will be as fast as 1 hour and 58 minutes and 3 hours and 12 minutes respectively, reducing current travel times by 15 minutes and 23 minutes.
From Shanghai to Nanchang and Changsha, the fastest travel times will be 2 hours and 46 minutes and 4 hours, reducing current times by 14 minutes and 22 minutes respectively.
From Shanghai to Guiyang and Kunming, the fastest travel times will be 6 hours and 54 minutes and 9 hours and 35 minutes, reducing current times by 78 minutes and 123 minutes respectively.
Through cross-line operations on the Hukun High-Speed Railway, travel times from Shanghai to Chongqing and Nanning will be as fast as 8 hours and 59 minutes and 9 hours and 33 minutes, reducing current times by 88 minutes and 107 minutes respectively.
On the Jingshen section of the Jingha High-Speed Railway, 56 benchmark train services are scheduled, an increase of 24 services compared to the current schedule.
Cities like Mudanjiang and Dandong will have their first direct benchmark trains to and from Beijing. Cities such as Tieling, Siping, and Benxi will also have benchmark trains stopping for the first time on the route to Beijing.
Benchmark trains on the Jingha High-Speed Railway will extend their services to Beijing West Railway Station for the first time. Over 40 additional benchmark train services will stop at county-level cities like Fuxin and Fengcheng.
From Beijing to Fuxin and Shenyang, the fastest travel times will be 2 hours and 2 hours and 29 minutes, reducing current times by 19 minutes and 15 minutes respectively.
From Beijing to Tieling, Siping, Changchun, and Harbin, the fastest travel times will be 2 hours and 46 minutes, 3 hours and 14 minutes, 3 hours and 36 minutes, and 4 hours and 33 minutes respectively, reducing current times by 44 minutes, 53 minutes, 14 minutes, and 14 minutes.
Through cross-line operations on the Jingha High-Speed Railway, travel times from Beijing to Benxi, Dandong, and Mudanjiang will be 3 hours, 3 hours and 47 minutes, and 6 hours and 12 minutes respectively, reducing current times by 67 minutes, 67 minutes, and 31 minutes.
