Rainwater Technologies reported on June 27 that Xiaomi’s full ecological press conference was shared by Lei Jun, Xiaomi’s founder, at the end of the conference.
Lei Jun said that Xiaomi did not expect the Xuanjie O1 chip to perform well when it was developed, which led to a shortfall in the overall production schedule for the O1 chip and designing it for only four products.
Lei Jun also thanked Zhu Dan for his great contribution to Xiaomi, and revealed that he also used a phone equipped with the Xuanjie Chip, which had a great user experience. This shows Xiaomi’s confidence in the performance and stability of its self-generated chips.
He also mentioned that several phones and tablets equipped with the Xuanjie Chip are currently in stock. Regarding some statements in the market about poor sales of the product, Lei Jun clearly denied this, “Three, four years ago, could you foresee that we could do well?” He further revealed that Xiaomi will definitely apply chip technology in the next automotive segment, for which all of them have developed a four-in-one domain controller. This move is aimed at mastering the core technology and preparing Xiaomi cars for future chip applications.
From Lei Jun’s statement, Xiaomi’s investment and bargaining resolve for self-development is huge. Domain controllers are a core component of smart cars. The success of self-development means that Xiaomi has greater autonomy and technological competitiveness in the smart car space.
The Xiaomi Xuanjie O1 is reportedly a flagship phone chip developed independently by Xiaomi. It is the first version of the Xiaomi 15S Pro. This is a major breakthrough in core technology for Xiaomi, marking an important step towards chip self-sufficiency for the company, which has long relied on chipmakers such as Qualcomm and China Technologies. The move not only enhances the competitiveness of Xiaomi’s products, but also has positive implications for the entire Chinese chip industry.
Previously, CCTV News also reported on the Xuanjie O1, saying that Xiaomi has become the first company in mainland China and the fourth in the world to independently develop and design a 3NM cell phone chip. Xuanjie O1 ranks first among mainstream flagship processors. There is no doubt that this is a recognition of Xiaomi’s achievements in the field of chip development.
According to the technical specifications, the Xuanjie O1 features a ten-core design, with the mega-core being ARM’s latest Cortex-X925, which has a primary frequency of more than 3.9GHz, dramatically increasing the performance limitations and taking into account energy efficiency. The design solution demonstrates that while Xiaomi pursues extreme performance in its chip designs, it also focuses on power control and strives to bring a better user experience to its users.
