On June 26, Fuyang, Anhui welcomed a 2025 Anhui Telecom Digital Technology Ecological Conference with the theme of “AI Leading and Walking to New Peers”. This conference focused on the application of digital technology in the agricultural field, and the smart agriculture exhibition area attracted much attention. Under the wave of digital economy, traditional agriculture is accelerating its transformation and upgrading. This conference has undoubtedly injected new impetus into the development of smart agriculture in Anhui and even the whole country.
Lu Dongdong, director of agricultural product line of China Telecom Digital Technology (Anhui) Co., Ltd., demonstrated the “Feixi Agricultural Big Data Platform” on the spot. By clicking the mouse, the detailed data of the farmland in Feixi County is clearly presented on the screen, including the area of basic farmland and high-standard farmland, as well as the proportion of paddy fields, dry fields, and irrigated land. This visual and refined data presentation method allows visitors to intuitively feel the technological power of smart agriculture. Compared with traditional agricultural management models, this data-driven method can achieve more efficient and accurate resource allocation.
According to Lu Dongdong, the “Feixi Agricultural Big Data Platform” was launched in October 2024, which has provided important decision-making support for agricultural production in Feixi County. The platform integrates relevant data on agricultural production in the county and combines various sensing equipment to monitor changes in land nutrient elements in real time, thereby providing guarantees for the high-quality development of the entire industrial chain such as rice and vegetables, and effectively promoting the process of agricultural modernization. The precise data analysis provided by the platform helps farmers to carry out planting management more scientifically and improve yield and efficiency.
In addition to the big data platform, another highlight is the “Shennong No. 1” big model based on China Telecom’s Star Model and connected to the DeepSeek capability. This big model has functions such as agricultural assistant, pest and disease picture recognition, agricultural product market circulation, smart work, etc. Users only need to enter a question in the dialog box to quickly get answers. This method of human-computer interaction greatly simplifies the operation process and lowers the threshold for farmers to use advanced technology.
Kang Yaqian, solution manager of China Telecom Agriculture and Rural Business Department, mentioned in the demonstration that in order to ensure the accuracy and practicality of “Shennong No. 1”, they collected 320,000 planting guidance and agricultural science popularization text data covering 11 major crop varieties, and cooperated with multiple farmers’ markets across the country to update price data in real time. Through continuous data accumulation and model optimization, large models can better meet the actual needs of farmers, help them improve production efficiency, increase income, and promote green and sustainable development of agriculture. This refined service, which combines market information, helps farmers make more informed planting decisions and reduce market risks.
Lu Dongdong also revealed that they are developing an agricultural intelligent digital cloud platform, which will rely on advanced technologies such as satellite remote sensing, drones, and sensors to achieve comprehensive real-time monitoring of farmland. At the same time, the Ten Million Cloud Platform will also fully benchmark the policy requirements of the “Ten Million Project” to meet the supervision and service needs of the “Ten Million Project” in the county. In the future, with the implementation of more technological innovations and applications, smart agriculture will usher in faster and healthier development. This can not only improve agricultural production efficiency, but also promote the standardized and large-scale development of agriculture.
In addition, advanced equipment such as integrated smart irrigation gates have also attracted the attention of many guests. The application of these equipment not only improves the efficiency and quality of agricultural production, but also demonstrates the technological charm of modern agriculture. It can be foreseen that with the deep integration of digital technology and agriculture, future agricultural production will be more intelligent, precise and efficient, providing strong support for the implementation of the rural revitalization strategy. This also means that future agricultural practitioners need to have higher scientific and technological literacy to adapt to the development trend of smart agriculture.
