Released on June 30th by Kuaicheji, the Leapmotor B01 has officially begun its pre-sale period. The new pure electric sedan is available in five configurations, with pre-sale prices ranging from 105,800 to 135,800 RMB.
Positioned as an A+ class all-electric sedan, the B01 measures 4770mm in length, 1880mm in width, and 1490mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2735mm. Upon its market launch, it is set to compete directly with established models such as the BYD Qin L EV/Seal 06 EV, Xpeng MONA M03, and GAC Aion RT.
The B01 inherits the design language of Leapmotor’s B-series. The front features a closed-off design with a贯穿式 (through-type) light strip and split headlights. Some variants are equipped with lidar on the roof. The rear adopts a贯穿式 (through-type) LED taillight design with a distinctive three-point light source, offering good recognition when illuminated.
The interior continues the brand’s family design. It is equipped with an 8.8-inch full LCD instrument cluster and a 14.6-inch 2.5K high-definition central control screen, powered by a Qualcomm 8295 in-car chip.
Notably, the “Versatile Co-pilot Space” from the Leapmotor B10 is also featured in the B01. Through a “magic expansion dock,” users can freely customize accessories such as folding tables and phone holders. Additionally, the vehicle includes a panoramic sunroof, 256-color ambient lighting, and a rear tissue box, enhancing passenger comfort and convenience.
In terms of intelligent driver-assistance systems, the B01 utilizes a Qualcomm 8650 intelligent driving chip, supporting L2+ level autonomous driving assistance. It offers features such as high-speed pilot, urban autonomous navigation, and memory parking, contributing to a more advanced and convenient driving experience.
The vehicle’s suspension system consists of front MacPherson struts and a multi-link rear suspension. The chassis tuning has been jointly developed with the Stellantis Group, aiming to balance dynamic performance with ride comfort. It also features the LMC blowout control system, a rare offering in its class, enhancing safety.
Regarding powertrain, the B01 is built on a native rear-wheel drive (LEAP3.5 technology) architecture, featuring a single-motor drive system. The rear-wheel drive motor offers maximum power outputs of 132kW and 160kW, with a top speed of 160km/h.
The vehicle is available with two different capacities of lithium iron phosphate battery packs: 56.2 kWh and 67.1 kWh. These provide CLTC operating range of 550 kilometers and 650 kilometers respectively, which should adequately meet the demands of daily urban commuting.
