The live-action interactive film game “Obsessed with Love” officially launched on the PS platform on May 16th.
Today, the game’s official channels announced that the title will be included in the PlayStation Summer Sale, offering a 20% discount from July 2nd to July 16th.
This game is adapted from the well-known urban legend “Yua Mikami’s Marriage and Retirement Incident,” where players take on the role of Mikami’s fiancé, “Qiangzi,” embarking on a unique adventure.
Beyond Yua Mikami, Qiangzi unexpectedly finds himself entangled with a diverse cast of characters including a prominent figure’s first love, a national idol, a glamorous pet doctor, a renowned football commentator, a sickly traditional girl, a wealthy female boss, and a rebellious rock biker girl.
As of this report, the title holds a player rating of 3.63 on the PS Store, with a 58% five-star rating. However, a notable 23% of reviews are one-star, indicating a highly polarized reception. This disparity suggests that while the game may appeal to a segment of the audience, a significant portion finds it lacking.
According to player feedback on Steam, a primary reason for negative reviews is that despite prominently featuring Yua Mikami as a selling point, her actual in-game presence is limited, and the plot design has also fallen short of expectations. This highlights a common challenge in games that rely heavily on celebrity endorsements – the need to deliver a substantial and engaging experience that lives up to the star power.
