The Li Auto i8 is positioned as a vehicle that redefines the pure electric SUV segment， incorporating numerous innovative features. Consequently， a grand launch event is deemed necessary to ensure broad awareness and understanding of the vehicle， aiming to attract a substantial number of users， media representatives， and business partners. The current office premises， with its limited capacity， would not suffice to accommodate the expected attendance， necessitating the selection of a larger venue.
Li Xiang also highlighted the market reception of Li Auto’s previous pure electric MPV， the MEGA. After a year of market presence， the MEGA has emerged as the top-selling MPV in the 500，000 RMB price bracket since June of this year. This positive consumer acceptance of its avant-garde design offers a promising outlook for the market potential of the Li Auto i8.
Previously， Li Xiang had humorously noted on Weibo that holding a launch event in a large Beijing venue would likely involve “paying tribute to Xiaomi，” implying that Xiaomi has a strong track record of utilizing many of the prime venues in the capital. Opting for a venue outside of Beijing was also considered but deemed impractical due to the associated high travel and accommodation costs for staff. Therefore， the decision was made to proceed with hosting the event in Beijing.
