On July 24th, Fast Technology reported that the Soulslike action-role-playing game, 《明末:渊虚之羽》 (Ming Dynasty: Profound Void’s Feather), developed by Chengdu Lingze Technology Co., Ltd., is scheduled for a global simultaneous launch today at 10:00 AM, available on PC, PS5, and Xbox platforms.
The Standard Edition of 《明末:渊虚之羽》 is priced at ¥248 RMB on Steam, with the Deluxe Edition available for ¥298 RMB.
As the first major AAA title from China in 2025, 《明末:渊虚之羽》 is seen as another significant domestic single-player game, following in the footsteps of titles like 《黑神话:悟空》 (Black Myth: Wukong).
The game is set against the backdrop of the late Ming Dynasty, integrating elements of ancient Shu civilization and mythology. It recreates historical sites such as the Bao’en Temple in Pingwu, Mianyang, and incorporates traditional cultural symbols like Sichuan Opera’s face-changing performances.
According to media reports, Guo Xinyi, co-founder of Lingze Technology, stated that the game’s development spanned six years. The team drew inspiration for its world-building from ancient texts like 《华阳国志》 (Classic of Huayang) and 《蜀王本纪》 (Annals of the King of Shu). They also conducted on-site scanning of historical sites including Bao’en Temple in Mianyang, the Anyue rock carvings, and Kaihua Temple in Dayi, incorporating these digitally restored cultural relics into the game.
Further details reveal that NPCs within the game converse in Sichuan dialect, and there is also a special Panda Easter egg included.
In 《明末:渊虚之羽》, players assume the role of “Wuchang,” a female warrior with amnesia. To uncover the truth of her origins, players will delve into the Shu region, ravaged by a mysterious “feathered” plague. Through persistent combat and skill enhancement, players will navigate lost temples, forest ruins, and perilous pathways, unraveling mysteries in a richly atmospheric and action-packed adventure.
