On July 31st, Geely Galaxy New Energy officially announced that during the “One Hundred Cities, Ten Thousand People Real-World Test” event for the Geely Galaxy A7, media tests recorded an average fuel consumption of 2.39L/100km when the battery was depleted. This figure is notably lower than the officially published CLTC figure of 2.67L/100km, suggesting that the actual performance of the Geely Galaxy A7 in terms of low fuel consumption exceeds its stated specifications.
The test conditions were specific: the air conditioning was set to 24℃ AUTO, the driving mode was enabled, the battery-keeping mode was off, and the vehicle was in a discharged state. The test covered a distance of 44.5km, traversing various road types including winding mountain roads, elevated expressways, and congested urban areas. Elevated expressways accounted for 71.3% of the route, and the vehicle carried three occupants. These diverse conditions provide a comprehensive evaluation of the vehicle’s real-world performance.
The fact that the Geely Galaxy A7’s real-world depleted fuel consumption (2.39L/100km) is lower than its official stated consumption (2.67L/100km) is a positive indicator, suggesting conservative official figures or robust engineering. This also means the vehicle is not “virtually inflating” mileage claims. From another perspective, this impressive fuel efficiency, typically around 2.5-3L/100km for many motorcycles, means the four-wheeled Geely Galaxy A7 sedan achieves even lower fuel consumption than many two-wheeled vehicles. This highlights the advancements in hybrid powertrain technology and its potential to offer substantial cost savings for consumers.
The Galaxy A7 is currently available for pre-order, with seven models offered, priced between 97,800 and 133,800 yuan. This competitive pricing strategy positions the A7 attractively in the market.
Positioned as a B-segment hybrid sedan, the Galaxy A7 is positioned slightly below the Galaxy Star 8. However, its exterior design, interior appointments, and overall features are highly competitive. With a pre-sale price point dipping below 100,000 yuan, it directly challenges established models like the Honda Accord and Toyota Camry, as well as competitors such as the BYD Qin L, making it a formidable contender in its segment with exceptional market competitiveness.
The Galaxy A7’s exterior design adheres to the brand’s distinctive aesthetic appeal. The interior is equipped with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 15.4-inch floating central control screen. The infotainment system runs on the Galaxy Flyme Auto smart cockpit, offering a smooth user interface. Despite its positioning in the 100,000-yuan class, the inclusion of a Head-Up Display (HUD) and overall sophisticated intelligent features are noteworthy, enhancing the driving experience and user interaction.
The vehicle measures 4918mm in length, 1905mm in width, and 1495mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2845mm, fitting the standard dimensions for a B-segment sedan and offering ample interior space.
In terms of powertrain, the Geely Galaxy A7 EM-i features the new Thor AI Hybrid 2.0 system, combining a 1.5L engine with an electric motor. The engine boasts a thermal efficiency of 47.26%, with a peak power output of 175kW. The system achieves a low depleted fuel consumption of 2.67L/100km and a comprehensive range exceeding 2100km, underscoring its efficiency and long-distance travel capabilities.
