Honor’s Magic V Flip2 is officially launching on August 21st, and the company has unveiled its full range of four color options: Dawn Purple, Moon Shadow White, Titanium Gray, and Dream Weaver Blue.
The Titanium Gray variant, in particular, stands out as a less common choice within the small foldable smartphone category, offering a sophisticated and gender-neutral aesthetic that would be equally appealing to male users.
Beyond aesthetics, Honor has also revealed the new device’s battery specifications. It will feature a 5500mAh Qinghai Lake battery, marking it as the largest battery capacity for a small foldable phone currently available. Furthermore, the Magic V Flip2 will support 80W wired super fast charging and 50W wireless super fast charging, solidifying its position at the top tier of industry charging standards. This combination of a substantial battery and rapid charging addresses a key concern for foldable device users, often a compromise for their unique form factor.
In terms of display, the Honor Magic V Flip2 maintains consistency with its predecessor, featuring a 6.82-inch LTPO inner display protected by UTG (Ultra-Thin Glass). It boasts a resolution of 2868*1232p, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a 4320Hz PWM high-frequency dimming for enhanced eye comfort.
The external display is a 4-inch LTPO panel with a resolution of 1200*1092p, also supporting a 120Hz refresh rate and a 3840Hz PWM high-frequency dimming. The presence of dual LTPO displays on both the inner and outer screens is a significant feature, promising smoother visuals and improved power efficiency, which is crucial for foldable devices where battery life is often a primary consideration.
For photography enthusiasts, the inner display hosts a centrally located punch-hole cutout for the front-facing camera, boasting a high-resolution 50MP sensor. The rear camera setup also features a dual-camera arrangement within punch-hole cutouts. The main camera is a remarkable 200MP sensor with an f/1.9 aperture, complemented by a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens offering a 120° field of view. The high megapixel count on both the main and ultra-wide sensors suggests a strong emphasis on detail capture and versatility in various shooting scenarios.
The device measures 167.1*75.6*6.9mm when unfolded and 15.5mm when folded, with a weight of 204g. It incorporates a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for convenient unlocking.
Under the hood, the Honor Magic V Flip2 is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, augmented by Honor’s proprietary HONOR C1 and HONOR E2 chips. The inclusion of the flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 platform, coupled with dedicated self-developed chips, indicates a focus on delivering robust performance, seamless connectivity, and potentially enhanced AI capabilities for the device.
