As of August 15th, the global OLED display market is undergoing a significant transformation, with North America’s once dominant position gradually being challenged by the robust rise of the European and Chinese markets.
According to the latest research from TrendForce, driven by strong demand from the esports sector, all regions are expected to see a comprehensive increase in OLED display shipments by 2025.
OLED display shipments are projected to surge to 2.66 million units in 2025, marking an impressive year-on-year growth rate of 86%. This would represent a penetration rate of approximately 2% in the overall display market, with expectations to climb to 5% by 2028.

North America, Europe, and China collectively account for over 80% of OLED display shipments, solidifying their positions as the core markets.
In 2024, North America held the leading position in global shipments, accounting for a substantial 44% due to major brands focusing their OLED display strategies on this region. This concentration highlights the market’s initial development phase, where key players often prioritize established markets with high purchasing power and existing technological adoption.
However, entering 2025, increasing global uncertainties prompt brands to diversify their risks by actively expanding into the European and Chinese markets. Consequently, North America’s share of shipments is anticipated to significantly decrease to 33%.
The European market’s share is set to leap from 28% in 2024 to 33% in 2025, leveling parity with North America. This growth in Europe can be attributed to several factors, including a growing consumer appetite for premium technology, supportive government initiatives promoting advanced display solutions, and the increasing availability of competitive OLED products from various manufacturers.
TrendForce forecasts that the Chinese market’s share of OLED display shipments will grow markedly from 14% in 2024 to 21% in 2025, with further expansion expected in the future. This upward trajectory in China is driven by a vast and rapidly growing consumer base, a strong domestic electronics manufacturing ecosystem, and a government emphasis on fostering innovation in the technology sector. The increasing affordability and variety of OLED products tailored to the Chinese market are also key contributors to this expansion.
