According to data released by Ovi Cloud, in July (July 1st – July 31st), Xiaomi’s online sales volume of air conditioners surpassed that of Gree. Xiaomi’s market share reached 16.71%, while Gree’s market share was 15.22%.
Wang Hua from Xiaomi Group’s Public Relations Department shared the related Weibo post and commented, “I didn’t expect the new era to arrive so quickly.”
Previously, Lei Jun, the CEO of Xiaomi Group, stated during a live broadcast that Xiaomi aims to become a leading home appliance brand in China by 2030. He acknowledged that the home appliance industry has a long history and Xiaomi still has much to learn. Lei Jun expressed high regard for Midea and Haier, deeming them excellent companies, and looks forward to competing with them to become a top player in the large home appliance market.
Xiaomi’s financial reports reveal that in the first quarter of this year, Xiaomi’s large home appliance business revenue doubled. Specifically, air conditioner shipments exceeded 1.1 million units, an increase of over 65% year-on-year, demonstrating strong growth even during the off-peak season. Refrigerator shipments surpassed 880,000 units, a year-on-year increase of over 65%. Washing machine shipments exceeded 740,000 units, a year-on-year increase of over 100%. Both washing machine and refrigerator shipments hit historical highs.
