China Railway has released the ticketing calendar for the upcoming National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, which marks the last extended holiday of 2025. This year, the two festivals coincide, resulting in an extended break of eight days.
The ticketing calendar indicates the following purchase dates:
- September 14th for travel on September 28th
- September 15th for travel on September 29th
- September 16th for travel on September 30th
- September 17th for travel on October 1st
To facilitate a smoother booking experience, travelers are advised to utilize the pre-filling function within the 12306 app. By selecting passenger information, train services, and seat preferences in advance on the day tickets become available, users can expedite the order submission process once sales commence. Additionally, passengers who are unable to secure tickets immediately can opt for the waitlist feature within the app, adding various train and seat options to maximize their chances of obtaining a ticket.
According to the official holiday schedule released by the General Office of the State Council, the combined National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holiday will see an eight-day break. The holiday period is from October 1st (Wednesday) to October 8th (Wednesday). As is customary with extended holidays resulting from the adjustment of workdays, employees will be required to work on September 28th (Sunday) and October 11th (Saturday).
A significant benefit for travelers during this festive period is the toll exemption for all toll roads, including airport expressways, toll bridges, and tunnels, for small passenger vehicles. This exemption will be in effect from 0:00 on October 1st to 24:00 on October 8th. Normal toll collection will resume on October 9th at 0:00.
