Geely Auto has officially unveiled images of the fifth-generation Emgrand sedan. The new model adopts Geely’s 4.0 family design language, featuring revised grille, headlights, and body lines, marking a significant evolutionary leap compared to the current model. This design update aims to enhance the vehicle’s aesthetic appeal and presence in the competitive compact sedan segment.
The newcomer boasts a completely redesigned front grille, which is adorned with twelve vertical slats. The headlights are integrated with a three-section daytime running light signature and present a slender, sharp design. These headlights offer an effective illumination distance exceeding 170 meters, roughly equivalent to two football fields, significantly bolstering safety during nighttime driving. This enhanced illumination capability is a crucial aspect for a family-oriented sedan.
While still positioned as a compact sedan, the fifth-generation Emgrand has seen a comprehensive increase in its dimensions. The new vehicle measures 4815mm in length, 1885mm in width, and 1480mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2755mm. These expanded dimensions translate into a more spacious and comfortable interior, a key selling point for buyers prioritizing passenger comfort and practicality.
The side profile is enhanced by chrome trim outlining the windows, and sharp, sporty upper and lower character lines. The wheels feature a new design and are fitted with larger tires, sized 235/45 R18, contributing to a more robust and upscale visual presence. These design elements collectively aim to give the Emgrand a more premium and dynamic appearance, challenging common perceptions of its segment.
The rear of the car is characterized by sharp taillights that incorporate LED illumination with exceptional penetration capabilities, stated to exceed 300 meters. This feature significantly improves visibility and safety in adverse weather conditions such as rain, fog, dust, or strong glare. The lower portion of the side skirts features silver trim, and the dual exhaust outlet trim on both sides adds a sense of symmetrical aesthetic appeal.
In terms of performance, the vehicle will be powered by a 1.5T engine, delivering a maximum power output of 133kW and a peak torque of 290 N·m. This engine is paired with a 7-speed wet dual-clutch transmission. According to official data, the car can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.9 seconds. This performance level is more than adequate for daily commuting and family use, positioning the Emgrand as a practical and competent option in its class.
