According to CCTV News on September 18th, the State Administration for Market Regulation has approved and published the recommended national standard “Recreational Vehicles: Safety Marks and Information Symbols.” This standard is scheduled to be formally implemented on March 1, 2026.
To standardize the design, production, and use of recreational vehicles, the State Administration for Market Regulation (Standardization Administration of China) organized the development of this national standard. The standard specifically outlines the safety marks and information symbols that recreational vehicles must be equipped with. It clarifies the technical requirements for the shape, color, size, and placement of various marks and symbols, covering crucial aspects such as driving safety, living arrangements, and fire safety facilities.
The standard mandates the prominent display of warning signs in key areas of recreational vehicles. These visual cues are designed to intuitively help users avoid potential risks. For instance, a “No Sleeping While Driving” sign will be placed near sleeping berths, and a “No Showering While Driving” sign will be positioned at the bathroom entrance. These measures aim to alert users to dangerous behaviors and, through clear visual prompts, assist more people in quickly understanding the proper use of recreational vehicles, thereby enhancing awareness of safe vehicular operation.
The release and implementation of this standard are expected to significantly improve the safety and convenience of driving and using recreational vehicles. This initiative holds considerable importance for elevating the quality of recreational vehicle products and fostering the high-quality development of the RV industry. By providing clear, standardized safety information directly to users, the standard addresses potential knowledge gaps and promotes a more responsible approach to recreational vehicle usage. This proactive measure is a positive step towards reducing accidents and enhancing the overall user experience within the growing recreational vehicle market.
