On October 16th, at the Honor Magic 8 series new product launch event, Honor CEO George Zhao unveiled the “Honor ROBOT PHONE,” signaling a significant leap in mobile technology.
The device is positioned as more than just a smartphone; it boasts an “AI super brain” capable of perceiving the world intelligently at any time and from any location. Coupled with “super robotic mobility,” it aims to seamlessly integrate into users’ daily lives, acting as both a companion and a professional camera to capture precious moments.
Zhao expressed Honor’s relentless pursuit of possibilities at the intersection of technology and humanity, hinting at further advancements to be showcased in Barcelona in 2026.
The Honor ROBOT PHONE is envisioned to define the next generation of intelligent devices. It transcends the traditional definition of an AI phone, evolving into a mobile robotic companion and a professional imaging tool.
This groundbreaking device integrates an AI brain, robotic mobility, and professional imaging capabilities. A key feature is its retractable gimbal-like mechanical arm, which can be deployed with a single touch, enabling the phone to move autonomously. This allows for features such as automatic framing, subject tracking, and superior image stabilization.
Furthermore, the ROBOT PHONE is equipped with Honor’s on-device large model, YOYO, which possesses emotional awareness. YOYO can proactively offer care, suggest content, and manage all connected ecosystem devices, acting as a personal assistant and creative partner.
As a significant outcome of Honor’s “Alpha Project,” the ROBOT PHONE marks a crucial transition for mobile devices from mere tools to “silicon-based life companions.” This redefines the user experience and the potential applications of a personal device.
Previously, Honor established a New Industry Incubation Department, housing laboratories focused on embodied intelligence, data for embodied intelligence, interaction security, powertrain, and bionic body research. This demonstrates Honor’s long-term commitment to embodied intelligence, with the ROBOT PHONE representing another major breakthrough in AI terminals.
Honor has effectively broken down the boundaries of traditional AI terminals by synergizing an AI brain, robotic-level mobility, and high-definition visual capabilities. This fusion results in a truly novel technological entity, born from the disruption of existing paradigms.
