Rain Technology reported on June 27 that Asus launched a new OLED display – PG32UCDMR, priced at 8,499 yuan.
It is reported that the new display uses Samsung’s third-generation QD-OLED technology, which is designed to provide more vivid and realistic color performance. It uses a 31.5-inch QD-OLED panel with an anti-glare coating on the surface, which can effectively reduce ambient light interference and improve the viewing experience. This panel has a 10-bit color depth, a resolution of up to 3840 x 2160 (4K), a refresh rate of 240Hz, and a response time (GtG) as fast as 0.03ms. The peak brightness of HDR is 1000 nits, which means that when displaying HDR content, it can present a wider dynamic range and richer details.
In terms of color display, the contrast ratio of PG32UCDMR reaches 1500,000:1, the DCI-P3 color gamut coverage rate is as high as 99%, and the color criterion DeltaE is less than 2, indicating that it can faithfully restore the image color. It also supports Dolby Vision, HDR10 and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro technologies, and is compatible with NVIDIA G-SYNC. This monitor is also VESA DisplayHDR 400 True Black certified, ensuring excellent performance when displaying deep black.
In terms of heat dissipation, in order to cope with the possible heat generated by OLED panels at high brightness, Asus added a graphene film to the back of the panel, using graphene’s excellent thermal conductivity to improve heat dissipation efficiency. This not only helps the monitor maintain high brightness level for a long time, but also effectively extends the service life of the OLED panel. The intelligent brightness adjustment function can automatically adjust the screen brightness according to ambient light, making the light and dark changes more delicate and reducing screen flickering. In addition, the display also integrates a Neo proximity sensor, which can accurately detect when the user leaves and automatically switch to a black screen after the user leaves, thereby reducing the aging risk of OLED panels and ensuring the long-term service life of the display.
To further enhance the gaming experience, the monitor also provides game assistive features such as dynamic shadow enhancement and dynamic cross aiming. Dynamic Shadow Enhancement can brighten the dark parts of the screen, making it easier for players to spot enemies hidden in the shadows, while dynamic cross aiming can help players aim more accurately.
This monitor also offers a variety of aspect ratio options, such as the 24.5-inch esports mode or the 27-inch mode to suit the needs of different gaming types. It also comes with KVM function and supports PBP (Picture-by-Picture)/PIP (Picture-in-Picture), making it convenient for players to control two computers using a set of mouse and keyboard. At the same time, ROG DisplayWidget Center provides an intuitive user interface, allowing users to easily access OLED Care functions and adjust monitor settings, simplifying operational processes and improving user experience. The addition of KVM and PBP/PIP functions makes this monitor suitable not only for gamers, but also for professionals who need multitasking, improving work efficiency.
In terms of interfaces, the PG32UCDMR is equipped with 2 HDMI 2.1 ports, 1 DisplayPort 2.1a port, 1 USB-C port (support DP mode and 90W power supply) and a headphone jack. In addition, it also comes with a USB hub function and provides 3 USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A interfaces, which facilitates users to connect to various peripheral devices.
