At the DTW25 Ignite Summit held in Copenhagen, Denmark, China Telecom and TM Forum, an authoritative organization in the global telecommunications industry, announced an important strategic cooperation: China Telecom and TM Forum Joint Center of Excellence (hereinafter referred to as the “Center of Excellence”) was officially established. China Telecom Deputy General Manager Luan Xiaowei and TM Forum CEO Nik Willetts jointly unveiled the Center for Excellence, symbolizing that the cooperation between the two parties has entered a new stage.
The goal of the Center of Excellence is to gather smart resources around the world to accelerate the innovation and commercialization of digital technologies. The center will rely on China Telecom’s rich practical experience in China’s telecom industry and TM Forum’s extensive international platform resources to establish cooperation with global operators, technology giants and academic institutions to jointly promote technological progress and industrialization in key areas such as cloud network integration and intelligent operation and maintenance (AIOps). Given China Telecom’s leading position in the domestic market and TM Forum’s strong influence in global telecom standards and frameworks, the cooperation is expected to have a positive impact on the industry as a whole.
The core business of the Center for Excellence will focus on four key areas: application innovation, standard setting, project incubation and talent training. By building an open and collaborative global digital ecosystem, the Center for Excellence is committed to promoting the global circulation of technology and standards and injecting new impetus into the talent cultivation of the digital industry. This comprehensive strategic layout is more conducive to promoting the complete transformation of digital technology from R&D to application, and ultimately serving the development of the industry.
In the future, the Center for Excellence will actively promote the application of cutting-edge technologies such as open operation architecture (ODA), self-intelligent network (AN), AI/network models in actual operation scenarios, with the goal of creating benchmark cases with industry demonstration effects. In addition, the Center for Excellence will actively participate in the discussion and formulation of TMF standards, and stimulate the innovation potential of the industrial ecosystem and accelerate the transformation and application of innovative results through regular innovation competitions. This means that the Center of Excellence not only focuses on technology research and development, but also on technology implementation and commercial value realization.
