Lei Jun said that when developing the Xuanjie O1 chip, Xiaomi did not expect its performance to be so outstanding, which led to insufficient overall production planning for the O1 chip and only designed for four products.
Lei Jun also particularly thanked Zhu Dan’s entire chip team for his great contribution to Xiaomi, and revealed that he was also using a mobile phone equipped with Xuanjie chips, and the user experience was very good. This shows that Xiaomi is confident in the performance and stability of its self-developed chips.
He also mentioned that several mobile phones and tablets equipped with Xuanjie chips are currently in stock. Regarding some of the statements on the market about poor product sales, Lei Jun clearly denied it and asked back: “Three or four years ago, could you foresee that we could do this chip so well?” He further revealed that Xiaomi will definitely apply chip technology to the automotive field next, and for this purpose, it has all developed a four-in-one domain controller. This move aims to master core technologies and prepare for future chip applications of Xiaomi Automobile.
