According to a leak from blogger “Smart Pikachu” on July 1st by Kuaitech, the Meizu 22 series is slated for release this month. This new device boasts a completely new mold for a true compact size, directly aiming to compete with the iPhone.
The series models have already received their three essential certifications under the model number M582Q. They are equipped with a single-cell battery capacity of 5370mAh, with a typical capacity of 5500mAh±.
The leak suggests this device will be an AI-powered compact flagship, measuring 71mm in width. It is described as a small, flat-screen phone meticulously crafted for an exceptional handheld experience.
Meizu has a long-standing reputation for prioritizing user experience and ergonomics, leading to the anticipation that this model could indeed deliver the most comfortable grip among small, flat-screen phones.
Furthermore, the device is rumored to feature flagship-grade hardware. It is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset and will notably include a periscope telephoto lens for the first time, a move that would address previous shortcomings in its camera performance.
Previous reports indicated that the Meizu 22 series will come standard with ultrasonic under-display fingerprint sensors. The standard version is expected to be priced around 4000 yuan, with the Pro version targeting the 5000 yuan price bracket.
It is important to note that as early as May of this year, some users posted a significant amount of unsubstantiated information about the Meizu 22 on Weibo. These posts included claims such as “My family bought a Meizu 22, and the battery drains very quickly,” “The Meizu 22 has severe overheating issues, how can sisters return it?”, “I bought a Meizu 22, used it for 10 days and it got stuck, does anyone understand?”, “The Meizu 22 is completely frozen, I want to return it,” and “The Meizu 22 has too many bugs and overheats easily.” These statements alleged product defects for the Meizu 22.
In response, Xingji Meizu officially issued a lawyer’s letter stating that these claims are seriously inconsistent with the facts. The Meizu 22 product has not yet been launched for sale, and these false statements are clearly unfounded fabrications and slander. They constitute malicious defamation of Meizu’s product quality and baseless speculation about Meizu’s business operations.
