On July 16th, a netizen shared photos on social media of an encounter with Yu Chengdong, Huawei’s Executive Director and Chairman of Terminal BG, and He Gang, CEO of Huawei Terminal BG, on an airport shuttle bus.
Despite their senior positions within Huawei, neither Yu Chengdong nor He Gang were accompanied by bodyguards or assistants. Yu Chengdong was seen carrying his own suitcase, while He Gang appeared to have only a backpack.
In the photos, both executives were focused on their mobile phones. He Gang was using Huawei’s latest flagship, the Pura 80 series, and judging by the size of the camera module, it’s likely the Pura 80 Ultra, considered the pinnacle of the series. Yu Chengdong was pictured with the Huawei Pura X, notable for being the world’s first foldable phone with a “kuozhe die” (wide fold) design.
Yu Chengdong and He Gang had jointly attended the launch event for the Pura 80 series in June, suggesting their current transit might be for a business trip.
This sighting aligns with Yu Chengdong’s consistently low-key personal demeanor. Previously, during a livestream showcasing the intelligent driving features of the AITO new M7 Ultra, Yu Chengdong described himself as an engineer who is not very articulate and dislikes ostentation.
He remarked, “I’m introverted by nature, but in this industry, we have to do livestreams and promotions. I have no choice but to push myself.”
