On July 18th, Niu Technologies launched its flagship electric scooter, the NXT Ultra 2025, with an introductory price of 11,999 yuan.
The scooter measures 1790mm in length, 750mm in width, and 1100mm in height. It maintains the signature minimalist and sharp design language of Niu’s N-series, exuding a modern urban aesthetic. A notable innovation is its double-arm surround frame design, and it is available in five color options.
The scooter features a 5-inch TFT color display complemented by a “magic dial” knob. It offers full-screen navigation with Gaode Maps and is compatible with both Apple and Huawei ecosystems. Security and convenience are enhanced through triple unlocking methods: NFC, Bluetooth, and the Niu app. It also boasts a “step-on-and-go” sensation-based starting function and the “Find My” anti-loss feature.
For enhanced safety and performance, the NXT Ultra 2025 is equipped with front and rear suspension, front and rear disc brakes, dual-channel ABS, and a tire pressure monitoring system. The integration of automotive-grade millimeter-wave radar further elevates safety with capabilities such as blind-spot monitoring and rear collision warnings, demonstrating a commitment to advanced rider assistance systems.
The scooter is powered by a 400W motor and supports a “launch control” mode. Its top speed is capped at 25 km/h, adhering to the latest national standards for electric bicycles in China. Notably, it can accelerate from 0 to 25 km/h in just 1.92 seconds and is capable of climbing inclines of up to 20 degrees, indicating robust performance for its class.
It is equipped with a 48V 30Ah lithium battery from Xinneng’an, which comes with a “buy one, get one free” offer. The battery boasts a peak discharge capability of 70A and high energy density, providing a claimed range of 105km. Its performance in extreme cold temperatures (-20 degrees Celsius) remains impressive, retaining over 95% of its capacity.
Niu also introduced the NXT Pro 2025 model alongside the Ultra. The Pro version is a more pared-down offering, featuring a smaller battery, omitting the millimeter-wave radar, and lacking the tire pressure monitoring system. It is priced starting from 8,499 yuan, appealing to a more budget-conscious segment of the market.
