According to sources from investment analysts, the upcoming iPhone 17 series is expected to see a price increase.
Leaked information suggests that the iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max will each experience a $50 price hike. The anticipated starting prices for these models are $949, $1049, and $1249, respectively. In contrast, the standard iPhone 17 is projected to maintain its current starting price of $799.
One of the contributing factors cited for the price adjustment in the iPhone 17 lineup is the impact of tariffs. Apple CEO Tim Cook previously indicated that tariffs led to an additional $900 million in costs for the company in the third fiscal quarter, with potential for higher costs in subsequent quarters.
Cook also emphasized that US tariffs have not yet affected Apple’s sales, expressing confidence in the future and commending his operations team for their excellent work in optimizing the supply chain and inventory.
However, when questioned about future price increases or the possibility of passing costs onto consumers, Apple declined to comment directly. Despite this, analysts widely believe that the current pricing strategy may become unsustainable under the pressure of tariffs. Consequently, it is widely anticipated that Apple will need to raise iPhone prices to maintain its profit margins.
