If considering changing or canceling a mobile number, it is advisable to back up phone data before deactivation. This includes updating the mobile number linked to bank cards, changing it for shopping websites, payment accounts, and social media accounts such as Weibo, WeChat, and QQ. After deactivating the number, it is best to destroy the SIM card.
