On August 11th, actor Jia Bing spoke about his journey as an actor during a recent film roadshow. He admitted that he might have accepted some less-than-satisfactory projects in the past due to brotherhood and a desire not to refuse requests from friends. However, Jia Bing declared, “Today, I make a solemn promise: from this point forward, I will disregard any personal feelings and will not film bad movies. I would rather not film at all. Every work I deliver will satisfy everyone. If I fail to do so, you (the audience) can get a refund.”
Jia Bing elaborated on his past decisions, stating, “There were indeed scripts that weren’t particularly good, but they were for friends. When a good friend sits in front of me and asks if I’ll participate, I’m not good at refusing and accept all their requests. Consequently, I ended up filming individual projects that were not entirely ideal.”
He shared that filming “The Last Frenzy of Money” (末路狂花钱) helped him realize a crucial principle: “While brotherhood is undoubtedly important, I also have my parents. You (the audience) are my lifeblood, my providers. You are my lifeblood.” This reflection underscores a shift in his priorities, recognizing the audience’s ultimate importance in his career.
Jia Bing is a well-known mainland Chinese actor and is recognized as a first-class actor. He also serves as the Vice Chairman of the Zhejiang Province Qu Yi Artists Association. His notable works include “Learning to Drive” (学车), “Love” (爱), “Going Home” (回家), “Lost in Russia” (囧妈), “Pegasus 2” (飞驰人生2), “The Last Frenzy of Money” (末路狂花钱), and “The Knockout” (狂飙).
