The 2025 World Humanoid Robot Games are currently underway at the Capital Indoor Stadium. In the recently concluded 100-meter sprint finals, the “Jushen Tiangong Ultra” robot from the Beijing Tiangong team secured the championship in the inaugural World Humanoid Robot Games 100m sprint with an impressive time of 21.50 seconds. This achievement marks a significant milestone in the development and application of humanoid robots.
Developed by the Beijing Humanoid Robot Innovation Center, Jushen Tiangong Ultra was the only participant in this year’s competition that ran entirely autonomously, without any manual remote control. This remarkable feat is attributed to its advanced fully autonomous navigation system. The robot’s ability to navigate and operate independently signifies a crucial leap forward in robotic autonomy.
The capabilities of its “autonomous mode” extend well beyond the confines of the racetrack. Leveraging the latest “Humanoid Robot Full-Body Control and Autonomous Navigation System” released by Beijing Humanoid on its “Huisikaiwu” platform, the robot demonstrates the ability to navigate from point to point, perceive dynamic obstacles, and perform real-time autonomous obstacle avoidance. This advanced system allows the robot to intelligently plan avoidance routes even when encountering unexpected ground impediments, laying a robust technical foundation for its future deployment in diverse environments such as factories, special operations, and households where sophisticated environmental perception and autonomous path planning are essential.
Jushen Tiangong Ultra’s consistent performance on the track serves as a powerful testament to the successful implementation and maturity of its core autonomous navigation and control technologies. This not only solidifies the basis for reliable robotic applications in complex and dynamic environments but also heralds a new era for humanoid robots, transitioning them from competitive arenas to a broader spectrum of practical applications in production and daily life.
