Huawei Device announced on August 21st that the Huawei nova 14 series is now available with a limited-time offer, providing discounts of up to 500 yuan. This promotion aims to attract more consumers to experience Huawei’s latest offerings, reflecting a common strategy in the competitive smartphone market to boost sales and market share.
According to the promotional page, the Huawei nova 14 is discounted by 200 yuan, making its starting price 2499 yuan. The nova 14 Pro receives a 300 yuan discount, with a starting price of 3199 yuan, and the nova 14 Ultra is reduced by 500 yuan, starting at 3699 yuan. These price adjustments indicate Huawei’s commitment to making its high-end devices more accessible, likely in response to market demand and the performance of competitors.
It is understood that the Huawei nova 14 Pro/Ultra models were released on May 23rd, followed by the nova 14 on May 30th. This staggered release schedule is a typical approach to build anticipation and manage product inventory effectively.
At the Huawei Developer Conference 2025 in June, Huawei Executive Director and Terminal BG Chairman Richard Yu revealed that the Huawei nova 14 series achieved sales of over 1 million units within 24 days of its launch. This rapid sales milestone underscores the strong market reception and consumer interest in the nova 14 series, particularly given the inclusion of Huawei’s proprietary Kirin chipset and HarmonyOS.
The Huawei nova 14 Pro and nova 14 Ultra are the first devices to feature the Kirin 8020 chip. The adoption of an in-house developed processor not only enhances Huawei’s control over its supply chain but also allows for greater optimization of hardware and software integration, a key differentiator in the premium smartphone segment.
Compared to its predecessor, the nova 14 Ultra boasts a 35% improvement in overall system performance, a 23% boost in gaming performance, and a 39% increase in operational smoothness. These significant performance upgrades are a testament to the advancements in Huawei’s chip technology and its focus on delivering a superior user experience, especially for demanding tasks like mobile gaming and multitasking.
The series comes pre-installed with HarmonyOS 5, marking it as the world’s first straight-screen device to run HarmonyOS. This positions the nova 14 series as a pivotal model in the ongoing development of the HarmonyOS ecosystem, signaling Huawei’s continued commitment to its homegrown operating system and its long-term strategy to build a comprehensive connected ecosystem.
