As Qixi Festival, China’s traditional Valentine’s Day, approaches next week, Xiaomi has unveiled a special custom edition of its device: the Xiaomi MIX Flip 2 Diamond Limited Edition.
This limited edition is officially on sale today at 10 AM, exclusively in a 12GB+512GB configuration, priced at 6,999 yuan. For context, the standard 12GB+512GB version of the Xiaomi MIX Flip 2 is priced at 6,499 yuan, making the Diamond Limited Edition 500 yuan more expensive. This price difference suggests that Xiaomi is targeting a premium segment of the market, leveraging the exclusivity and added embellishments of the limited edition to justify the uplift.
The limited edition is available in two Qixi-themed colors: Cherry Red and Glacier White. Notably, its frame is intricately inlaid with 0.6-carat cultured diamonds, cut in a Cupid’s bow style and certified by the NGTC National Jewel and Jade Quality Inspection Center. The incorporation of real diamonds, coupled with rigorous certification, elevates the device from a mere smartphone to a piece of wearable luxury, catering to consumers seeking both advanced technology and high-end aesthetics.
The back panel features an innovative crocodile-patterned Kona leather, offering a stylish yet flexible and skin-friendly touch, accented by a subtle Xiaomi metal plaque. This material choice signifies a commitment to premium finishes, aiming to provide a unique tactile experience and a sophisticated look that differentiates it from standard glass or plastic finishes.
Further enhancing the luxurious appeal, the limited edition comes with a bespoke gift box packaging, including a versatile flip-cover case, a long and short pearl lanyard, and a lychee-patterned storage pouch. These thoughtful accessories create a complete unboxing experience, reinforcing the premium nature of the product and adding significant value for gift-giving occasions.
In terms of specifications, the limited edition remains consistent with the standard version, carrying forward the previous generation’s emphasis on a slim and lightweight design. The phone measures a mere 7.57mm in thickness and weighs 199g. It features a 4.01-inch external display optimized for over 500 high-frequency applications like Weibo, Douyin, and Xiaohongshu. The external screen also includes an independent earpiece and microphone, enabling users to make and receive calls without unfolding the device, a practical convenience for modern multitasking.
The internal display is a 6.86-inch panel. The company claims its crease control is among the industry’s best. Both the internal and external screens share a consistent 1.5K resolution and 460 PPI pixel density, with a peak brightness of 3200 nits and a 120Hz refresh rate. This high-quality display setup ensures an immersive and fluid visual experience, whether using the device folded or unfolded.
Under the hood, the Xiaomi MIX Flip 2 is powered by the flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 “Supreme Edition” processor. It is equipped with a 5165mAh battery supporting 67W wired fast charging and 50W wireless fast charging. The camera system features a dual-camera setup consisting of a 50MP Leica main camera and a 50MP Leica ultra-wide-angle lens, promising exceptional photography capabilities.
