On September 10th， according to Kuaikeji， the Douyin E-commerce Security and Trust Center announced that the platform has recently observed issues related to Labubu merchandise in a minority of livestreams and stores. These problems include the sale of counterfeit goods， false advertising， malicious price manipulation， and post-sale disputes.
Douyin stated that such practices not only severely infringe upon consumer rights but also violate the intellectual property rights of relevant enterprises， disrupt the fair market order， and have caused detrimental effects.
In accordance with Douyin E-commerce’s relevant regulations， the platform has launched a special governance initiative. To date， over 200 merchants and more than 600 key influencers engaging in violations have been removed， and the related merchandise has been cleared from the Douyin Mall’s curated selection alliance.
It is understood that Douyin has also disclosed several typical violation cases. These include the sale of counterfeit products passed off as genuine， advertising that significantly mismatches the actual product， excessive shipping delays， non-shipment or fraudulent shipments， refusal of reasonable returns， and disputes over return shipping costs， as well as scarcity-driven hype and redirects to third-party platforms.
The disclosed cases noted that some merchants repeatedly claimed in livestreams things like “genuine Labubu，” “official POP product，” “brand new， unopened，” and “triple compensation for fakes” to create an atmosphere of guaranteed authenticity. However， the products actually shipped were imitations or high-quality replicas， which clearly did not match the advertisements and constituted trademark infringement and counterfeiting.
Douyin reminds consumers that genuine Labubu products are characterized by exquisite craftsmanship， high-quality materials， and meticulous paintwork. Counterfeits often exhibit noticeable color differences and rough detailing. Authentic blind box packaging is clearly printed and may include anti-counterfeiting labels or QR code verification functions.
