On September 19th， GAC Trumpchi officially launched its new Xiangdao S9， offering four models. The official guiding price ranges from 229，900 to 259，900 yuan， with a limited-time trade-in price of 219，900 to 249，900 yuan.
The Xiangdao S9 features a distinctively boxy exterior， with a closed-off front end enhanced by a horizontal light strip that exudes a strong sense of technology. The muscular front face， coupled with the sculpted air intake surrounds and a broad lower grille， creates a powerful visual impact.
The vehicle measures 5060*1950*1760mm in length， width， and height， with a wheelbase of 2930mm， positioning it as a mid-to-large-sized SUV. It also offers dual-tone color options and Maybach-style “big disc” wheels， further emphasizing its luxurious appeal.
Detailing the exterior， a forward-facing lidar sensor is integrated into the roof， and cameras are positioned on the front fenders. The “ADS” badging on the optional decorative parts clearly indicates the vehicle’s equipped with Huawei’s advanced driver-assistance systems.
The rear of the new vehicle continues the boxy and robust design language， with vertically oriented taillights on either side. These lights are expected to feature a matrix light source， allowing for customizable display of various content.
The interior boasts an impressive display setup， featuring a 27-inch W-HUD head-up display system， a 12.3-inch instrument cluster， and a 15.6-inch floating central control screen. The infotainment system runs on the HarmonyOS cockpit (HarmonySpace 5) and is equipped with a 21-speaker ADiGO SOUND audio system， featuring a 7.3.4 channel spatial audio arrangement， which is a significant highlight for immersive in-car entertainment.
The vehicle is available in both 5-seat (2+3) and 6-seat (2+2+2) configurations. The front seats are upholstered in ultra-soft Nappa leather and feature an 11-layer composite structure. The front passenger seat is enhanced with an 18-point SPA-level massage function and holistic heating that covers the seat cushion， backrest， and leg rest， with a one-touch zero-gravity mode. These premium features aim to provide exceptional comfort for occupants.
The second-row seats also offer independent massage， ventilation， and heating functions， along with electric adjustment. The seatback recline angle is generous， reaching 137 degrees in the 5-seat version and 148 degrees in the 6-seat version， providing substantial comfort for rear passengers.
Additionally， the second row features a 17.3-inch high-definition entertainment screen， certified by TÜV Rheinland for low blue light and flicker-free operation， and is equipped with a convenient small table tray.
In terms of intelligence， the new vehicle comes standard with Huawei’s Qiankun Intelligent Driving ADS 4 Max advanced version across all trims and is upgraded to the new WEWA architecture. It features 29 perception units in total， including a 192-line lidar (with a maximum detection range of 250m) and three 4D millimeter-wave radars (with a maximum detection range of 280m)， enabling seamless assisted driving from parking spot to parking spot.
The suspension system is equipped with an intelligent preview system and SDC (Self-Driving Control) variable damping shock absorbers. It also offers distinct driving modes for off-road recovery， snow， and slippery conditions， enhancing its versatility.
In terms of powertrain， the Trumpchi Xiangdao S9 is powered by a plug-in hybrid system consisting of a 1.5T engine and an electric motor. The engine has a maximum power output of 118 kW， and all models come standard with dual-motor four-wheel drive， with the front motor producing 170 kW and the rear motor 80 kW.
The vehicle is equipped with a 44.5 kWh CATL Xiaoyao super hybrid battery as standard， offering a CLTC pure electric range of 252 km and a comprehensive CLTC range of 1200 km. This substantial battery capacity and extended range address common concerns about electric vehicle usability， making it a competitive option in the PHEV market.
