On September 22nd, in the wake of the controversy surrounding “Xibei Pre-prepared Dishes,” the term “freshly made” has become a sensitive issue for restaurants.
Several well-known chain restaurants have faced scrutiny for their alleged use of pre-prepared dishes, including popular establishments like Tai Er Suancaiyu and Green Tea Restaurant.
Recently, some netizens observed that Green Tea Restaurant had removed the advertising slogan from their storefronts that read, “This store does not use pre-prepared dishes; everything is made to order.”

In response to this development, Luo Yonghao commented online, stating that such behavior is indeed very “green tea” and quite “bitchy.”
Luo Yonghao further elaborated on his reasoning for advocating for legislation to mandate the disclosure of pre-prepared dish usage in restaurants. He explained that if such usage is not declared, restaurants that secretly employ pre-prepared dishes gain an unfair advantage in terms of both cost and efficiency. This, in turn, forces restaurants that prefer not to use pre-prepared dishes to adopt them simply to survive. Ultimately, this trend leads to a market dominated by “bad money driving out good,” which can damage the entire industry.
