According to the latest data released by QuestMobile on September 24, 2025, the Top 15 list of enterprises with the largest de-duplicated user base in August 2025 has been unveiled.
The report highlights that Tencent Holdings, Alibaba, ByteDance (owner of Douyin), and Baidu Group collectively lead the Chinese internet user ecosystem, forming what is termed the “first tier” with over 1 billion users each.
Specifically, Tencent Holdings holds the top position with a de-duplicated user base of 1.266 billion, marking a year-on-year increase of 2.3%. Alibaba follows closely with 1.255 billion users, experiencing a year-on-year growth of 5.5%.
ByteDance, the entity behind Douyin, secured the third spot with 1.182 billion users. Notably, it demonstrated the most robust growth among the top three, with a year-on-year increase of 11.6%. This surge underscores the continued strong appeal and growth potential of short-form video platforms.
Baidu Group ranked fourth with 1.111 billion users, showing a year-on-year growth of 1.2%.
The “second tier” of major internet players includes Ant Group (940 million users), Meituan (902 million users), JD.com (891 million users), and Pinduoduo (855 million users). These companies represent a significant portion of the digital landscape and continue to maintain substantial user engagement.
In the “third tier,” we see Kuaishou (629 million users), China Mobile (522 million users), Tencent Music (509 million users), Weibo (508 million users), Didi Global (507 million users), Huawei (401 million users), and Kingsoft Office (392 million users). The presence of China Mobile and Tencent Music in this grouping further emphasizes the diverse nature of the digital economy, encompassing essential services and entertainment platforms.
The significant year-on-year growth of Douyin and Kuaishou by 11.6% and 5.6% respectively, firmly indicates that user demand for short-form video content remains exceptionally strong and is a key driver in the market’s expansion.
Furthermore, Huawei’s user base experienced a remarkable year-on-year increase of 7.4%. This growth is a clear indicator of the expanding influence and effectiveness of Huawei’s HarmonyOS ecosystem, as it successfully translates its appeal from mobile devices to a broader range of connected terminals. This suggests a strategic and effective diversification of their product and service offerings.
