On September 28th, Xiaomi’s official Weibo account announced that the Xiaomi 17 series achieved record-breaking sales and revenue within five minutes of its launch, setting a new benchmark for new domestic phone series across all price segments in 2025. This initial success highlights a strong consumer reception for Xiaomi’s latest offerings.
Lei Jun, founder of Xiaomi, expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support, noting that the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max, as a single model, surpassed the entire day’s first-sale performance for all domestic phone series launched this year. He further revealed that the Pro Max variant accounted for over 50% of the total sales within the Xiaomi 17 series, indicating its significant popularity and appeal.
Lu Weibing, President of Xiaomi Group, acknowledged the immense demand for the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max, stating that production is being rapidly scaled up. He admitted that the company underestimated the market excitement for this inaugural Pro Max model, with user demand far exceeding initial projections. This candid admission underscores Xiaomi’s responsiveness to market dynamics and its commitment to meeting consumer needs.
Currently, several configurations of the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max are listed as sold out on the official Xiaomi mall, indicating a clear market shortage and a dynamic supply-demand situation. This scarcity further fuels consumer interest and suggests a strong desire for the device.
The Xiaomi 17 Pro Max boasts impressive core specifications, featuring a 6.9-inch display and powered by the latest fifth-generation Snapdragon 8 Ultimate platform. The camera system is a standout, with a triple-lens setup comprising a 50-megapixel Leica ultra-high dynamic main camera, a 50-megapixel Leica ultra-luminous periscope telephoto lens, and a 50-megapixel Leica ultra-wide-angle lens. Powering the device is a substantial 7500mAh battery, supported by 100W wired and 50W wireless charging capabilities.
Furthermore, the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max introduces an innovative “Magic Share” back screen. This feature allows users to customize personalized wallpapers and can dynamically synchronize with the “Super Island” notifications. It provides real-time updates for dozens of Super Island information points, including ride-hailing and food delivery services, enhancing user convenience and interaction.
The retail price for the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max is set at 5999 Yuan.
