On September 30th, according to reports, rapper Nomi publicly apologized on social media for being fined for driving without a license.
He stated: “I’ve always dreamed of driving. At the end of September, I arrived in the bustling city of Hangzhou and saw my friend’s cool sports car. I felt an intense desire. That day, driven by a moment of impulse and the temptation of envy, I yielded to a侥幸心理 and drove my friend’s sports car without a license.”
Nomi mentioned that he immediately went to the traffic police team to cooperate with the investigation and accepted the penalty. The traffic police officers imposed a fine of 1,000 yuan and gave him a stern warning and educational talk.
Regarding the delay in his public response, Nomi explained: “For the past period, I haven’t responded publicly immediately because I’ve been fully dedicating my energy to learning how to drive and producing new music. I wanted to prove my determination to correct my mistakes through actions.”
Recently, the “Comprehensive Service and Management Platform for Traffic Safety” of the Zhejiang Provincial Public Security Department’s Traffic Management Bureau added a new penalty notice. The notice indicates that on September 25th at 21:13, Al Yida was caught engaging in the illegal act of driving a motor vehicle without a license on Kangyuan South Road, Jingshen Street, Hangzhou.
According to relevant provisions of Article 99 of the “Road Traffic Safety Law of the People’s Republic of China,” the investigation team of the Gongshu Brigade of the Hangzhou Public Security Bureau’s Traffic Police Detachment ruled that Al Yida would receive administrative detention of 0 days and a fine of 1,000 yuan. The penalty was issued on September 26th.
Multiple media outlets have reported that Al Yida is, in fact, the rapper Nomi, who gained popularity for his abstract rap song “Xie Di Xie Di, I Want to Diss You,” titled “Xie Tian Xie Di.”
