The incident， which occurred last month， involved Ms. Lin using her smart toilet’s bidet function as usual. However， after pressing the button， the device experienced a brief malfunction. Subsequently， the toilet unexpectedly sprayed scalding hot water， accompanied by steam.
The shock of the hot water caused her to “jump up and scream.” She immediately ran to the bathroom and rinsed the affected area with cold water from the shower for an hour. Despite applying burn cream afterward， she continued to experience discomfort， leading her to seek medical attention. She was diagnosed with a superficial second-degree perineal burn， affecting less than 1% of her body surface area.
