On October 5th, Xiaomi Group’s Lu Weibing announced that the Xiaomi 17 standard edition with a 1TB storage version is now available, responding to user feedback. A poster indicates that the recommended retail price for the Xiaomi 17 standard edition with 1TB storage and 16GB of RAM is 5299 yuan.
Lu Weibing further stated that the Xiaomi 17 standard edition boasts a substantial 7000mAh battery and an impressive 1TB of storage, leading many netizens to dub it the “most powerful standard edition flagship.” This move highlights Xiaomi’s strategy of incorporating user suggestions into product development, a practice that often resonates well with its loyal fanbase.
Currently, with the holiday period well underway, the Xiaomi 17 series as a whole has seen a significant sales increase of over 20% compared to the same period in previous generations. Notably, the Pro series has surpassed expectations, with active restocking underway, and the standard edition is also experiencing growing popularity. This sales performance indicates a strong market reception for Xiaomi’s latest offerings, suggesting a successful product cycle.
It is understood that the Xiaomi 17 series includes three variants: the Xiaomi 17, Xiaomi 17 Pro, and Xiaomi 17 Pro Max, with starting prices of 4499 yuan, 4999 yuan, and 5999 yuan, respectively. The pricing structure appears to cater to a range of consumer budgets and feature preferences within the premium smartphone segment.

The Xiaomi 17 standard edition is particularly well-suited for users who prefer a compact form factor and prioritize a comfortable in-hand feel. It features a 6.3-inch display and weighs a light 191g. The design is further enhanced by its generous R-angle design, an exceptionally narrow bezel of 1.18mm on all four sides, and a four-sided micro-curved mid-frame. Additionally, equipped with Xiaomi’s Dragon Crystal Glass, it offers a tenfold improvement in drop resistance. The entire device is also IP68 dust and water-resistant, providing robust durability for everyday use.
Moreover, the Xiaomi 17 is the first to feature Qualcomm’s 5th generation Snapdragon 8 Supreme Edition platform. It is equipped with a 50MP Leica main camera and a 50MP Leica floating telephoto lens. The device houses a 7000mAh Xiaomi Jinshajiang battery, positioning it as Xiaomi’s most powerful and versatile small-sized flagship to date. The inclusion of these high-end components suggests a commitment to delivering top-tier performance and imaging capabilities in a more compact package.
Previously, the Xiaomi 17 standard edition was not offered with a 1TB storage option, with available configurations being 12GB + 256GB (4499 yuan), 12GB + 512GB (4799 yuan), and 16GB + 512GB (4999 yuan). This omission had prompted numerous Xiaomi fans to call for a 1TB version. Xiaomi’s prompt response to this demand by introducing this new 1TB variant demonstrates their responsiveness to customer desires and their dedication to expanding product choices.
