On October 6th, it was reported that following praise from People’s Daily for Xiaomi’s 17 innovations, CCTV News also featured the successful sales of the Xiaomi 17 series with a report titled “Domestic Mobile Phones Drive New Tech Consumption During National Day.”

CCTV’s report highlighted that during the National Day holiday, following the popularity of “drone rentals” in the cultural tourism sector, high-end domestic mobile phones are contributing to new technology consumption with their innovative interactions and experiences. Physical stores have seen bustling crowds, with some flagship models experiencing periods of scarcity.
Specifically, the Xiaomi 17 series has become a consumer favorite due to its unique “Mijia Smart Back Screen” innovation and its imaging capabilities, achieving over 1 million units sold in just 5 days after its release.
Furthermore, CCTV News’s “Anchor’s Commentary” segment pointed out that the recently launched Xiaomi 17 series has been experiencing strong sales in stores, driven by innovations like the “Mijia Smart Back Screen” and its outstanding camera performance.
On October 2nd, Lu Weibing announced that the Xiaomi 17 series sales had indeed surpassed 1 million units, a faster pace compared to previous generations. He also mentioned that Xiaomi is actively increasing production and stocking to ensure customers can receive their devices as soon as possible.
According to data released by Xiaomi, the entire Xiaomi 17 series set a new sales record for first-day sales of new devices across all price segments for domestic smartphones in 2025, selling out within just 5 minutes of release.
The Xiaomi 17 Pro Max, as a single model, broke the record for both sales volume and revenue on its first day of release among domestic mobile phones this year.
Notably, Xiaomi has also expedited the production of the 1TB version of the Xiaomi 17 standard edition, which officially went on sale on October 5th, priced at 5299 yuan, making it 200 yuan cheaper than the same version of the Xiaomi 15.
