According to a report from Kuaitech on October 11th, the all-new Hongqi Guoyao, a full-size luxury SUV, has officially hit the market. It is available in two distinct models, with pricing ranging from 1.56 million to 1.66 million yuan.
The exterior design largely retains the classic aesthetic of its predecessor. The front fascia is characterized by a prominent waterfall grille complemented by a red flag emblem at the front. Flanking the grille are strip-like lighting elements, and the “dragon eye” shaped LED headlights contribute to its imposing presence.
The vehicle is offered in a “Dan Sha Black” exterior paint. Buyers have the option to select thematic packages named “Polar Tianma” and “Bai Yulan,” which are paired with 22-inch multi-spoke chrome wheels. At the rear, the taillights incorporate multiple small light strips, enhancing the vehicle’s visual distinctiveness.
In terms of dimensions, the Hongqi Guoyao measures 5695mm in length, 2095mm in width, and 2010mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3309mm. It boasts a ground clearance of 220mm and a curb weight of 3180 kilograms. These substantial figures clearly position it as a true full-size SUV, designed for commanding presence and ample interior space.
The interior design and functional layout remain consistent with the previous model. Buyers can choose between two elegant two-tone color schemes: “Zhen Li Brown/Black” and “Linen Rice/Soft Light Brown,” both exuding a strong sense of luxury and sophistication.
Significant upgrades have been made to the vehicle’s configuration, particularly in the area of active safety features. The new model incorporates a more comprehensive suite of systems, including lane departure warning, automatic emergency braking, fatigue driving reminder, door opening warning, front and rear collision warning, blind-spot assist, road traffic sign recognition, roadside assistance calls, and a rollover prevention system. Additionally, a new front monocular camera has been added, enabling full-speed adaptive cruise control. These enhancements aim to provide a safer and more relaxing driving experience, which is crucial for a vehicle of this size and luxury class.
Furthermore, the new Guoyao introduces convenience features such as keyless entry, adaptive high and low beam headlights, electric adjustment for the third-row seats, an in-cabin fragrance system, and air quality monitoring. These additions further elevate the premium experience for occupants.
The primary distinctions between the “Dian Ya Qi Hang” (6-seater version) and the “Zun Jue Qi Jian” (4-seater version) lie in the seating arrangement and the level of luxury in the second row. The 6-seater features a 2+2+2 layout, while the 4-seater adopts a more exclusive 2+2 configuration. The higher-tier 4-seater variant offers enhanced amenities, including second-row cup holders, an integrated rear entertainment display for the front seats, 12.8-inch headrest screens, and executive independent second-row seats with adjustable backrests and leg rests. The inclusion of electric lumbar support (4-way front/back and up/down adjustment), a semi-reclining function for the “boss” seats, and second-row seat massage functions underscore the focus on ultimate passenger comfort and a chauffeur-driven experience.
Under the hood, the powertrain has also received a significant upgrade. The Hongqi Guoyao is now equipped with a brand-new 4.0T V8 engine. This powerhouse delivers a rated output of 400 kilowatts (equivalent to 544 horsepower) and a peak torque of 725 Newton-meters. Paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission, it achieves a brisk 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 6.1 seconds. The vehicle’s fuel efficiency is rated at 13.9 liters per 100 kilometers under the WLTC combined cycle. With an 113-liter fuel tank, it theoretically offers a cruising range exceeding 800 kilometers, making it suitable for long journeys.
