Microsoft is approaching the end of support for Windows 10, and concurrently, several versions of Windows 11 are also nearing their support expiration dates.
To ensure a smooth transition for users, Microsoft has issued a notification highlighting that Windows 11 version 23H2 has a limited support window of approximately 30 days remaining. This serves as a crucial prompt for users to consider upgrading to a more current version to maintain access to security updates and new features.
According to official Microsoft documentation, Windows 11 version 23H2 is scheduled to conclude its support on November 11, 2025. This end-of-life date specifically applies to the consumer editions of Windows 11, namely Home and Pro.
The November 2025 update will mark the final “Patch Tuesday” release for these specific Windows 11 versions. However, enterprise and business editions will benefit from an extended support period, receiving updates for an additional year beyond the consumer versions.
For users currently on Windows 11 version 23H2, Microsoft strongly advises an upgrade to either the more recent Windows 11 24H2 or the upcoming 25H2. While this upgrade process may require some time and potentially a system reboot, the benefits include access to a wider array of functionalities and a significantly longer support lifecycle. This approach ensures users can leverage the latest enhancements and maintain system security for an extended period.
Typically, Microsoft employs an automated update system to transition users to newer Windows 11 builds as their current version approaches its end of support. Users can proactively manage this process by navigating to “Settings” > “Windows Update.”
