On October 14th, according to CCTV reports, the China-Europe Railway Express’s central corridor has surpassed 20 million tons in freight volume.
Customs data indicates that as of October 13th, since its inception in 2013, the freight volume of China-Europe Railway Express trains passing through the Erenhot Port, supervised by the Hohhot Customs, has exceeded the 20 million-ton mark, reaching 20.546 million tons with nearly 21,000 train departures and arrivals.
In the first three quarters of 2025, Erenhot Port’s China-Europe Railway Express handled approximately 331,000 TEUs (Twenty-foot Equivalent Units) and a cargo weight of about 3.3 million tons, representing a year-on-year increase of approximately 10.7% and 17.9%, respectively.
It is noteworthy that the variety of goods exported via the China-Europe Railway Express has seen continuous upgrading. The proportion of high-value-added products such as domestic automobiles, machinery, and electronic appliances has increased to over 40%.
Currently, the Erenhot Port operates 74 routes, extending its reach to over 10 countries in Asia and Europe, and connecting more than 140 domestic and international cities or stations.
