At the 2025 Bay Area Semiconductor Exhibition (湾芯展), Xin Kailai (新凯来) presented several innovations, including two advanced EDA design software and a new generation of domestic oscilloscopes, despite the current absence of domestically produced advanced lithography machines.
Xin Kailai’s subsidiary, Wanliyyan (万里眼), unveiled its new generation of 90GHz ultra-high-speed real-time oscilloscopes.
Representatives from Wanliyyan stated that all showcased products are independently developed, making their debut, and have already achieved commercial viability. The oscilloscope, in particular, garnered significant attention.
Each channel of this oscilloscope supports 90GHz wideband signal acquisition, independent 200GSa/s sampling rate, and up to 4Gpts deep storage. It also offers various acquisition modes, including real-time, segmented, high-resolution, and peak detection.
This development marks a substantial leap in domestic oscilloscope performance, potentially increasing it by up to 500% compared to previous generations. This advancement is poised to benefit industries such as semiconductors, 6G communication, optical communication, and intelligent driving.
Oscilloscopes are essential tools in technology-intensive sectors like electronics and semiconductor integrated circuits. They translate invisible electrical signals into visual representations, enabling the study of electrical phenomenon dynamics. The instrument operates by directing a narrow beam of high-speed electrons onto a fluorescent screen, creating a visible spot. Under the influence of the signal being measured, this electron beam acts like a pen tip, tracing the instantaneous value variations of the signal over time. This allows for the observation of waveforms, as well as the testing of various electrical parameters like voltage, current, frequency, phase difference, and modulation depth.
Historically, the high-end oscilloscope market has been dominated by Western manufacturers such as Keysight, Tektronix, and Lecroy, leaving Chinese manufacturers limited to mid-to-low-end products with significantly lagging performance. While international leading high-end oscilloscopes commonly exceed 60GHz bandwidth, reaching up to 110GHz, domestic offerings previously ranged from 8GHz to 18GHz. The recent breakthroughs in domestic chip and semiconductor technology have created an urgent demand for high-performance real-time oscilloscopes, making Wanliyyan’s new product launch highly timely.
According to business registration information, Shenzhen Baiwan Eye Technology Co., Ltd. (深圳市万里眼技术有限公司) was established on September 4, 2023, with a registered capital of 218,649,517.68 RMB.
