The tech blogger @数码闲聊站 has revealed detailed specifications for the Honor Magic8 Ultra, positioning it as Honor’s most formidable imaging flagship to date.
Specifically, the Honor Magic8 Ultra will feature a 6.71-inch 1.5K LTPO screen with consistent curvature across all edges, and will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 platform, supporting both 3D facial recognition and ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensing.
Furthermore, the device’s main camera sensor has been upgraded to OmniVision’s OV50R, boasting 50 million pixels, alongside a new periscope telephoto lens with an advanced large sensor. The battery capacity is also expected to exceed 7000mAh.
The OV50R sensor is reported to feature a large 1/1.3-inch sensor size, a premium imaging component from OmniVision. It supports pixel binning technology (quad-bayer), enabling 12.5MP output at 120 frames per second and 4K video recording at 60 frames per second. This sensor also facilitates high-quality 8K video recording through its Dual Analog Gain (DAG) HDR capabilities and in-sensor crop zoom functions.
Previously, Honor’s Head of Imaging, Luo Wei, stated that their “Ultra” series would introduce features users have never seen or even imagined. Honor is committed to hardware investments in functionalities that are currently unattainable by AI or cannot be fully realized without AI, as well as in areas where AI can provide a hundredfold improvement.
He emphasized that their focus is on developing features that are genuinely useful to consumers. By pushing innovation boundaries, they aim to inspire better performance across the industry, ultimately benefiting the end-users.
