November 9th News: According to meteorological reports, a cold air mass will continue to move eastward and southward over the weekend. Significant snowfall is expected in many areas of Northeast China, while rainfall in parts of southern China will intensify due to the interaction of cold and warm air fronts. This weather pattern presents a contrast across different regions of the country.
Focusing on snowfall, tomorrow, some areas in northeastern Inner Mongolia, northern and eastern Heilongjiang, and eastern Qinghai are likely to experience light snow or sleet. The day after, northern Xinjiang and eastern Qinghai will see light snow or sleet, with moderate to heavy snowfall anticipated in mountainous areas like Altay in Xinjiang. These snowy conditions are typical for these regions during this time of year as temperatures drop and moisture is readily available.
Turning to rainfall, tomorrow, light to moderate rain is forecast for western areas of the Huai River basin, southern Jianghan, most of Jiangnan, eastern and southern parts of Southwest China, western Guangxi, Hainan Island, and Taiwan Island. Locally heavy rain is possible in southwestern Yunnan. The day after tomorrow, parts of Taiwan Island could experience heavy to torrential rain, with the northeastern region of the island potentially facing extraordinary torrential downpours. The intensity of rainfall in Taiwan is particularly noteworthy and suggests a significant weather system impacting the island.
The rainfall is expected to lower the daytime high temperatures in many parts of Jiangnan to below 20°C over the weekend. However, the cold air mass is predicted to move quickly, and a warming trend is anticipated in these areas at the beginning of next week. It is advised for the public to stay informed about temperature changes and adjust their clothing accordingly to prevent colds and other seasonal illnesses. The rapid swing in temperature highlights the dynamic nature of the weather systems at play.
