On July 10th, it was announced that NIO’s sub-brand LeDa’s flagship SUV, the L90, has opened for pre-sale. The vehicle is priced at 279,900 RMB for outright purchase, with the Bass battery rental option bringing the starting price down to 193,900 RMB. Official pre-sale benefits have also been released.
The L90 is positioned as NIO LeDa’s flagship SUV, boasting an exceptionally low drag coefficient of 0.25. It features a closed, futuristic front fascia complemented by a dual-layer headlight design, creating a striking “X-shaped” visual impact. All variants come standard with ADB intelligent adaptive high beam lights.
The vehicle’s dimensions are 5145mm (length) x 1998mm (width) x 1766/1786mm (height), with a wheelbase of 3110mm, classifying it as a large SUV. It boasts the best length-to-wheelbase ratio in its class and is available in both six- and seven-seat configurations. This generous wheelbase underpins its spacious interior, a key selling point for family-oriented vehicles.
To facilitate easier entry and exit for children and the elderly, the L90 offers “Step-Up” electric retractable running boards made of aluminum alloy. These boards can support up to 300kg and feature dual anti-pinch protection.
Leveraging its pure electric platform, the L90 offers exceptional interior space utilization, including a class-leading 4195mm of longitudinal usable space. Crucially, all three rows provide over 1 meter of legroom, ensuring comfort for passengers up to 1.85 meters tall in the third row. This optimized use of space is a significant advantage in the competitive large SUV segment.
The L90 features a generous 240L front trunk, capable of holding two 20-inch suitcases and one child’s suitcase. Its opening is a wide 830mm, easily accommodating a 30-inch suitcase. With a loading edge height of 600mm, it’s more accessible than many car trunks, making it convenient for the whole family. The front trunk also offers a “Le-lock” feature, allowing for touch-activated opening, along with soft-close and anti-pinch functionality.
The rear cargo space is equally impressive, offering 430L of volume even with the third row in place, accommodating seven 20-inch suitcases. This is thanks to a cleverly designed sunken storage area.
Inside, the L90 features an “enveloping cockpit” design. The minimalist dashboard is dominated by a 17.3-inch 3K central display, a three-spoke multifunction steering wheel, and a 35-inch AR-HUD, all contributing to a high-tech ambiance.
Additionally, the vehicle includes features such as dual wireless phone charging slots, catering to the charging needs of front occupants. The space beneath the center console is also intelligently designed to accommodate handbags and other items for both the driver and front passenger, enhancing practicality.

The rear cabin is equipped with a 17.3-inch 3K foldable entertainment screen, a glove box screen for multimedia and climate control, and luxurious second-row zero-gravity seats. It also features a split panoramic sunroof and fold-out second-row tables. Based on the seatbelt placement, the zero-gravity seats are likely intended for stationary use.
The L90 is equipped with an 8.8-liter smart electric refrigerator, featuring a automotive-grade compressor, adjustable temperature range from 0-50°C, and six storage modes, adding significant convenience for family trips.
A notable design detail is the placement of all seat adjustment controls on the door panels, appearing to be crafted from crystal for a premium feel. The third row also features these adjustment buttons, allowing for recline angle adjustments to enhance passenger comfort.

The L90’s seats are a standout feature, constructed with a unique 13-layer design for superior comfort, claimed to be class-leading. All seats are heated, with the first and second rows also offering ventilation and massage functions. This focus on passenger comfort sets a high standard for the segment.
Safety is paramount for family SUVs, and the L90 addresses this with a steel-aluminum hybrid body construction, utilizing these materials for 84% of the vehicle. It incorporates 27.4kg of 2000Mpa ultra-high-strength steel, contributing to a robust body torsional stiffness of 38159 Nm/Deg. These figures highlight a strong emphasis on structural integrity.
Furthermore, the L90 boasts numerous passive safety features, including nine airbags as standard across all trims. This includes front far-side airbags, and a specially redesigned passenger airbag for enhanced protection. This comprehensive airbag system underscores the vehicle’s commitment to occupant safety.
The vehicle also features 45 active and intelligent safety assistance functions as standard. Notably, it includes an end-to-end AEB (Autonomous Emergency Braking) system, which is claimed to be one of only two globally and the only one in its class.
In terms of autonomous driving, the L90 adopts a vision-centric sensing approach rather than LiDAR. It utilizes an impressive array of 30 sensors, including seven 8-megapixel high-definition cameras and one 4D millimeter-wave imaging radar. This sensor suite enables comprehensive environmental perception.
This advanced sensing capability allows the LeDa L90 to support end-to-end intelligent pilot driving assistance, with NOA (Navigate on Autopilot) functionality available nationwide, covering highways, elevated roads, and urban areas. These features will be progressively rolled out to users via OTA updates.
Underpinning the L90 is the “Xingyun Smart Enjoy Chassis,” featuring a front double-wishbone and rear five-link suspension setup. It also incorporates four hydraulic bushings for enhanced ride comfort and handling. The air suspension offers a substantial 100mm of travel and is paired with intelligent continuous variable damping, as well as staggered front (255) and rear (275) tires for optimal performance and a comfortable stop.
The L90 demonstrates excellent lightweight design, with the rear-wheel-drive version weighing just 2250kg and the all-wheel-drive version at 2360kg. William Li has stated that it may be the lightest three-row SUV in terms of its weight-to-size ratio. This focus on lightweight construction contributes to improved acceleration, extended range, and better body control.
The powertrain features NIO’s ET9-derived permanent magnet synchronous rear motor, delivering a peak power of 340 kW. This motor is remarkably compact, measuring just 37 liters and achieving a leading volumetric power density of 9.2 kW/L.
The rear-wheel-drive version accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds. The all-wheel-drive variant boasts a system power of 440 kW and achieves 0-100 km/h in just 4.7 seconds, outperforming many V8-powered luxury vehicles costing upwards of a million yuan. This performance metric is highly competitive and aims to attract buyers seeking both practicality and exhilarating speed.
It is paired with an ultra-thin, swappable battery pack measuring just 116mm in thickness, maximizing cabin space. The battery has a capacity of 85kWh, providing a CLTC range of 605km. The energy consumption is remarkably low at 14.5 kWh/100km (for the rear-wheel-drive version), making it efficient for its size and class.
