Xiaomi Auto has revealed that this electric front trunk offers a multitude of convenient opening and closing methods， demonstrating a focus on user experience and accessibility:
The driver’s side front fender of the Xiaomi SU7 is equipped with a physical button， allowing for easy manual operation of the electric front trunk’s opening and closing.
All models of the Xiaomi SU7 support an “external voice” function. Once activated via the central control screen (Settings > Xiao Ai > External Voice Wake-up)， users can summon Xiao Ai to open the front trunk from outside the vehicle. To prevent accidental activation， this feature requires the user to have the remote key or the mobile phone Bluetooth key within a 5-meter radius of the vehicle. Furthermore， the SU7’s external voice function incorporates voiceprint recognition， significantly enhancing security and ensuring only authorized users can operate it.
For users with UWB (Ultra-Wideband) enabled mobile phones， the front trunk can be set to open automatically. After enabling this feature in the central control screen (Settings > Doors & Locks > Automatic Front Trunk Opening)， approaching the front trunk with a UWB-compatible phone and remaining stationary for approximately 3 seconds will cause the front trunk to open. This is particularly beneficial when your hands are full， offering a seamless and hands-free opening experience.
The Xiaomi Auto APP also provides control over the electric front trunk’s opening and closing. This feature is especially useful for receiving packages， allowing users to remotely open the trunk for delivery personnel.
For those who have purchased a remote key from the Xiaomi Auto APP store， a double-press of the unlock button will open the front trunk. Alternative customization options allow users to assign the front trunk open/close function to a custom button on the remote key， providing a dedicated remote control. This highlights Xiaomi’s commitment to offering multiple and intuitive access methods.
