On July 27th， 2025， the final leg of the torch relay for the 12th World Games (Chengdu World Games) took place at Xinglong Lake Wetland Park in Tianfu New Area， Sichuan Province.
This leg featured 38 torchbearers， representing a diverse group including sports champions， tech pioneers， cultural ambassadors， and youth role models.
Notably， a delivery rider from Ele.me was among the chosen torchbearers.
The rider， identified as Zhao Mingyang， gained public attention for his repeated acts of bravery while on duty.
He is a compassionate “reverse traveler” and a “beacon of hope” in protecting lives.
On the evening of August 28， 2020， while delivering food， Zhao Mingyang discovered a residential building fire. He bravely entered the burning structure at least five times to extinguish flames and evacuate residents. He was subsequently hospitalized due to smoke inhalation and was recognized as a “Civilian for Righteousness” in Jinjiang District， Chengdu， and a “Good Person of Sichuan.”
In 2023， he was honored as one of the first “Most Beautiful Delivery Riders” by the China Light Industry， Textile， and Tobacco Workers’ Union and was nominated for Chengdu’s first batch of five-star civil civilized riders.
