On August 18th, AQ, an AI health application under Ant Group, officially launched a suite of AI-powered anti-fraud features aimed at combating misleading medical advertisements and protecting the elderly from being deceived. This initiative aligns with the vision of Alibaba founder Jack Ma, who has recognized the potential within this sector.
According to media reports, Zhang Junjie, Vice President of Ant Group and General Manager of the Digital Healthcare Business Unit, revealed that the name “AQ” was personally chosen by Jack Ma. Ma envisioned the product to encompass not only Artificial Intelligence (AI) but also Intelligence Quotient (IQ) and Emotional Quotient (EQ), aiming for AQ to achieve a similar societal impact as Alipay’s “no thieves in the world” philosophy. The goal is to leverage AI technology to eliminate fraudulent medical advertising and ensure that patients are no longer misled.
Users can easily access these anti-fraud functions within the AQ App by simply searching for “打假” (dǎ jiǎ – debunk/expose fake). This action quickly calls upon features such as AI-powered image verification for advertisements, AI-driven phone number authenticity checks, and a 24-hour rolling feed of debunked rumors. The integration of these tools aims to provide a robust defense against various forms of medical misinformation and scams.
It is worth noting that Ant Group had already officially launched AQ on June 26th. This comprehensive application extends beyond its anti-fraud capabilities, offering a wide array of over a hundred AI-driven features. These include health education, consultation services with healthcare professionals, and interpretation of medical reports, underscoring Ant Group’s strategic focus on AI in healthcare as a future growth direction.
