On August 19th, GreatDrive reports that the 2026 Haval Menglong PHEV has officially launched, with prices ranging from 173,800 to 208,800 RMB. For a limited time, a trade-in discount brings the price down to 153,800 to 188,800 RMB.
The new model features exterior detail adjustments, maintaining its signature boxy silhouette. Notably, the previously retro round headlights have been replaced with square units, further enhancing its rugged appeal. The vehicle is available in five body colors: Moon White, Ink Wash Jiangnan Grey, Night Black, Cloud Creek Grey, and Mint Green. This design shift from round to square headlights is a significant aesthetic change, leaning into a more utilitarian and robust image, which aligns well with the SUV’s intended off-road and adventure capabilities.
The vehicle’s dimensions are 4800mm in length, 1950mm in width, and 1843mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2738mm. It is equipped with traditional door handles and a flat roofline, contributing to a spacious interior. These dimensions place the Menglong firmly in the mid-size SUV segment, offering a practical footprint for both urban driving and off-road excursions.
Furthermore, the “HAVAL” badging has been replaced with a “GWM” emblem on the rear, a move that signifies a potential brand consolidation or evolution for Great Wall Motors. The taillights have also been redesigned with a more three-dimensional internal structure, creating a more distinctive light curtain effect when braking, enhancing both aesthetics and safety.
Inside, the new model features the latest family-style dual-spoke steering wheel and a column-mounted gear shifter. It is equipped with a 12.3-inch full LCD instrument cluster and a 14.6-inch central control screen. The infotainment system is powered by the Coffee OS 3, offering seamless integration with popular mobile connectivity platforms like Huawei HiCar, ICCOA Carlink, and Honor Car Connect. The introduction of the Coffee OS 3 signifies Haval’s commitment to providing a modern and intuitive user experience, crucial for competing in today’s tech-savvy automotive market.
The front seats offer electric adjustment and heating functions, while the rear seatbacks can be adjusted between 27 and 32 degrees, enhancing comfort during long journeys. These comfort features, particularly the adjustable rear seats, cater to the needs of families and those who frequently undertake extended road trips.
The powertrain has also been upgraded, adopting the second-generation Hi4 technology. It features a new 1.5T engine (GW4B15M), which, compared to the current model’s 1.5T engine (GW4B15E), has a reduced maximum power of 115 kW from 123 kW. This adjustment in engine power, coupled with the Hi4 technology, suggests a focus on optimizing fuel efficiency and electric performance rather than outright peak horsepower from the internal combustion engine.
The vehicle utilizes a P2+P4 dual-motor architecture, with the rear axle drive motor having a maximum power of 150 kW. The system delivers a combined output power of 330 kW and a peak torque of 750 Nm, allowing for a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 5.9 seconds. This impressive acceleration figure highlights the advantage of the PHEV system, providing strong performance that rivals many traditional internal combustion engine vehicles in its class. This dual-motor setup is typical for advanced PHEV systems, offering efficient power delivery and the flexibility of electric-only driving.
It is equipped with two battery pack options: 18.74 kWh and 27.54 kWh, providing CLTC pure electric range of 102 km and 145 km, respectively. These range figures are competitive within the PHEV SUV market, offering customers the choice based on their daily commuting needs and ability to charge regularly.
