As reported by Kuaikewang on September 22, SAIC MG officially announced that its pure electric sedan, the MG4, has achieved a delivery volume of over 10,000 units in just 24 days since its launch.
The MG4 is offered in four trim levels, with prices ranging from 68,800 to 102,800 RMB. A limited-time promotional subsidy brings the price down to a competitive 65,800 to 99,800 RMB. Notably, SAIC MG has stated that if the battery experiences a spontaneous combustion incident, they will compensate customers with a brand new vehicle, a bold warranty that underscores their confidence in the product’s safety and reliability.
Built on SAIC’s E3 pure electric architecture platform, the MG4 features the brand’s latest family design language. The most significant exterior update is the adoption of newly styled headlights, which lend a more fashionable and modern aesthetic. The car will also be equipped with an illuminated logo, further enhancing its new energy vehicle identity and appeal.
In terms of dimensions, the MG4 measures 4395mm in length, 1842mm in width, and 1551mm in height, with a wheelbase of an impressive 2750mm. This generous wheelbase, combined with the CTB (Cell-to-Body) battery integration technology, allows for a lower floor height, which in turn maximizes interior space and provides a more spacious cabin experience for occupants.
The interior adopts a wrap-around cockpit design and will be available in two color schemes: Rose Purple and Dai Shan Blue. The steering wheel retains a dual-spoke design, complemented by a compact digital instrument cluster and a column-mounted gear shifter. A floating central control screen is positioned on the dashboard, providing access to various vehicle functions.
Depending on the trim level, the central infotainment screen will be available in three sizes: 10.25 inches with 720P resolution, 12.8 inches with 1080P resolution, and a larger 15.6-inch display with 2.5K resolution, offering a premium visual experience.
In terms of performance, the new MG4 will be powered by a “six-in-one” electric motor, delivering a maximum power output of 120 kW and a peak torque of 250 Nm. The vehicle has a top speed of 160 km/h, making it suitable for both city commuting and highway driving.
The MG4 will be equipped with lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries, available in two capacities: 42.8 kWh and 53.9 kWh. These configurations provide CLTC-rated cruising ranges of 437 km and 530 km, respectively. Furthermore, the vehicle supports 2C fast charging, allowing for rapid replenishment of the battery on the go.
