Recent rumors regarding NVIDIA’s RTX 50 Super series graphics cards have been persistent. Notably, the Seasonic power supply calculator has unexpectedly listed options for the GeForce RTX 5070 Super and RTX 5070 Ti Super.
The inclusion of these two RTX 50 “Super” series graphics cards, specifically the GeForce RTX 5070 Super and RTX 5070 Ti Super, in the dropdown menu of the Seasonic power supply calculator suggests that the RTX 50 Super series is not merely speculative. This update from Seasonic, a reputable manufacturer of power supply units, lends a degree of credibility to the ongoing rumors, contrasting with earlier reports that suggested NVIDIA had no plans for a Super refresh this year and might not even unveil them at CES.
As for the specifications, a significant enhancement rumored for the RTX 50 Super series is an increased VRAM capacity. Reports indicate that these cards will feature 3GB GDDR7 memory modules, leading to a substantial 50% increase in overall VRAM when compared to their non-Super counterparts. Consequently, the RTX 5070 Super is expected to come with 18GB of GDDR7 VRAM, while the RTX 5070 Ti Super is anticipated to be equipped with 24GB.
Beyond VRAM improvements, the RTX 50 Super series is also projected to see an increase in power consumption. According to the data presented in the Seasonic power supply calculator, the RTX 5070 Super has a listed TDP of 275W, an increase from the standard RTX 5070’s 250W. The RTX 5070 Ti Super, in particular, demonstrates a more significant jump in power draw, with a TDP of 350W, compared to the standard RTX 5070 Ti’s 300W. These figures suggest that NVIDIA is likely leveraging more powerful silicon and potentially higher clock speeds for the Super variants, necessitating robust cooling solutions and more capable power supplies.
